Lishi 48TOY Usage Tips
- Use light to medium tension when working on these locks.
- These locks contain split wafers in all five positions.
- This means:
- When picking, you will open one side first.
- The lock will then rotate slightly (about a quarter turn).
- You will need to pick it again to fully open it.
- The lock will remain in the open position, and:
- It must be picked again before it can be turned back to the locked position.
- After that, the tool can be removed safely.
- Always decode the lock in the same direction it was picked while in the open position.
Important Note
These locks are relatively more difficult to pick compared to most others.
If you plan to work on Toyota and Lexus vehicles, it is highly recommended to:
- Get two practice locks from a scrapyard,
- Practice picking and decoding them repeatedly,
- Until you become fully comfortable with the process.
